Created the Popular Theater of Bogotá. Center for Dramatic and Audiovisual Arts, better known as the TPB, a space that contributed to the construction of the capital’s theater culture and where he directed several plays from 1968 to 1993, including “Julio César” by William Shakespeare (1969) and “La muerte de un Viajante” by Arthur Miller (1972, 1982 and 1983); “I Took Panamá” by Luís Alberto García (1974, 1980 and 1983).

Jorge Alí Triana has more than 55 years of experience, he is considered one of the main and most versatile Latin American directors, harmoniously combining his career between film, television and theater. He studied television, film and theater in Prague at the Higher Academy of Arts AMU, where he learned the director´s labor under the guidance of recognized international masters such as Vladimir Adamek, Frantisek Stepanek, Vaslav Hundechek and Milan Kundera.

He has been a man dedicated to art that with mysticism and dedication, has led the dramatic art to have great national and international prestige, which has made him worthy of several national and international recognitions and awards. In the 1990s, he successfully alternated the direction of theater, film and television, between Bogotá and New York City, where he began his prolific career as a guest director of the stage group Repertorio Español. During this decade he adapted and directed four novels of Latin American literature on stage.

In 2010, he founded the DRAMAX production company and since then has been the CEO of this prolific idea´s house.
